New Jersey's Interdistrict Public School Choice Program enables approved choice districts to enroll K-12th grade students who do not reside within their districts without cost to their parents. The program increases educational opportunities for students and their families by providing students with school options outside of their district of residence and giving parents the power to select a school program that best serves their child's individual needs.
The Berlin Township School District is an approved school choice district. However, the New Jersey Department of Education has strict guidelines for program operation, specifically the district’s designation of the available seats in specific grades and programs that are open to choice students.
Our district has 5 openings for the kindergarten class for the 2025-2026 school year. Once all of the seats are filled after our lottery in December, we will form a wait list for kindergarten. There are no openings for Grades 1-8 and a wait list will start for each grade after the lottery is held.
All applications are due on November 25, 2024. Late applications will be accepted and considered after those who applied before the deadline.
Our lottery for the 25-26 school year applicants will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 10:00am at the Huster Administration Building.
